Although he seems to be uncaring and frivolous at first glance, in reality he is sensitive and serious. Irvine is constantly flirting with the women, when he first joins your party he suggests that you send him on with Rinoa and Selphie. While he seems to be very cool, calm, and confident when you first meet him, he doesn't deal with pressure well. He joins Squall's party when Galbadia Garden sends him to help Squall's party to assassinate Sorceress Edea. His bullet is stopped by a force shield, and he stays with Squall's party to redeem himself for the failure to complete the mission. All the females in the game, with the exception of Quistis, seem to be taken by his charm. He reminds the rest of the orphanage group of their past, all the others forgot about it due to GF usage which damages their memory, and he becomes swiftly attached to Selphie upon joining your party.
